2nd Annual Hildegarde Dolson Memorial Cribbage Tournament

The Friends of the Library are hosting the 2nd Annual Hildegarde Dolson Memorial Cribbage Tournament on Saturday, March 9, 2013.  There is a $10 entry fee per player.  Entry forms are available at the library, or you can download the entry form and return it to the library with the entry fee.

The intent of the tournament is to provide players and spectators with a day of fun, friendly cribbage competition.  The tournament will also raise money for the library.

There are two practice sessions for new players, or those who want to brush up on their skills before the tournament.  Both sessions are at the library.  The first is Saturday, March 2 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.  The second is Wednesday, March 6 from 6 PM to 9 PM.

Tournament registration begins at 10 AM on Saturday, March 9 and the games begin at 11 AM.

The general tournament rules are:

  • Cribbage games will be one-on-one (two players) according to Hoyle’s Rules, excepting the rule of “muggings” which will not be enforced.
  • Players will be assigned opponents by a random draw of entries.
  • Opponents will play a best of three game series, with the winner advancing to the next round.
  • The final three winners will play a series of “Round Robin” games to determine the final standings.
  • Really neat trophies will be awarded to the finalists. :)

If you are interested in a weekly cribbage get together, date and time to be determined, please contact Friends of the Library member Debra Houser at dhouser1 {at} juno {dot} com.  The information you provide will be kept on file for future tournaments and not shared or used for any other purpose.
